A law firm is seeking a Commercial And Employment Litigation Attorney for its Chicago, IL office.

Job Overview:

  • Works under the direction of the Office Managing Partner, Practice Group Leader, and/or Partners in preparing matters for hearing, trial, arbitration, or mediation.
  • Responsibilities include drafting correspondence, pleadings, opinion letters, and other documents; reviewing and analyzing documents for relevance and privilege; preparing for, attending, and summarizing depositions; coordinating with witnesses; and communicating with clients, courts, and other counsel.
  • Maintains current knowledge of Local Rules, Rules of Civil Procedure, FRCP, and other applicable codes and regulations.
  • Coordinates and communicates with parties outside the Firm including clients, courts, opposing and co-counsels, vendors, attorneys, secretaries, paralegals, case assistants, managers, and other staff.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Draft correspondence, pleadings, opinion letters, and other legal documents.
  • Review and analyze documents for relevance and privilege.
  • Prepare for, attend, and summarize depositions.
  • Coordinate with witnesses.
  • Communicate with clients, courts, and other counsel.
  • Maintain knowledge of Local Rules, Rules of Civil Procedure, FRCP, and other applicable codes and regulations.
  • Coordinate and communicate with various parties outside the firm.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of commercial and employment litigation experience.
  • Must be licensed to practice in Illinois.
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills.
  • Command of the English language.

Education & Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Illinois State Bar.

Skills:
