A law firm seeks a Leasing Attorney for its New York City, NY, office. The ideal candidate must have extensive experience representing landlords and tenants in all commercial real estate leasing aspects, including office, industrial, life sciences, and retail leasing. Experience with the fundamentals of real estate acquisitions, dispositions, zoning, construction, and/or development and permitting is a plus. Working independently with minimal supervision and in teams is essential, along with a demonstrated record of client service. The ideal candidate would have 5 years of experience.

Duties:

  • Represent landlords and tenants in commercial real estate leasing transactions.
  • Provide legal advice and support on leasing matters, including negotiating and drafting lease agreements.
  • Conduct due diligence on properties subject to leasing transactions.
  • Handle lease disputes and resolutions.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external parties to facilitate leasing transactions.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admitted to the New York State Bar.
  • 5+ years of experience in commercial real estate leasing, preferably with a focus on both landlords and tenants.
  • Strong understanding of real estate law and leasing practices.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.

Certifications (Preferred):

  • Certification in Real Estate Law.
