In this role, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating various state and local tax engagements for clients. You will also be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with clients, as well as managing a team of professionals. Responsibilities: • Manage and coordinate state and local tax engagements for clients. • Develop and maintain relationships with clients. • Manage a team of professionals. • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, and communicate with them on a regular basis to ensure their needs are being met. • Assist clients with business restructuring and adoption of new tax laws. • Conduct research and analysis on state and local tax issues. • Develop and implement tax planning strategies for clients. • Review and prepare state and local tax returns. • Manage and resolve state and local tax controversies. • Stay updated on changes in state and local tax laws and communicate these developments to clients. • Identify opportunities for clients to minimize state and local tax burdens. • Coach and mentor team members, providing them with feedback and helping them develop their skills. • Collaborate with other departments and teams within the firm to provide clients with comprehensive solutions. Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field. • CPA certification or other relevant tax, technology, or finance-specific credentials. • Minimum of 4 years of experience in state and local tax. • Master's degree in Taxation or Political Science preferred. • Thorough knowledge of state and local tax laws, including income tax planning, compliance, and controversies. • Strong technical skills, including FAS 109, unitary filing, apportionment methodologies, and tax research. • Experience managing and developing relationships with clients. • Ability to manage and lead a team effectively. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. • Familiarity with CRM systems and alternative fee arrangements. • Knowledge of automation and digitization in a professional services environment. • Ability to work with large, complex data sets and utilize data visualization tools. • Understanding of pricing strategies and the use of pricing tools. • Familiarity with the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance for positions based in San Francisco. • Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship through the H-1B lottery. Salary Information: • Salary for this position ranges from $100,000 to $150,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. • Additional bonuses and benefits may be available, including healthcare, retirement plans, and paid time off. • Relocation assistance may be provided for candidates who are relocating for this position, depending on qualifications and distance. • Salary may also be negotiable based on the needs of the candidate and the company.
