Duties:

  • Conduct patent prosecution and portfolio management activities focusing on video processing, video codecs, virtual/augmented reality, and AI.
  • Collaborate with attorneys and clients to analyze patent issues and provide strategic guidance.
  • Assist in patent analysis/opinions of counsel and inter partes reviews (IPRs) as needed.
  • Manage time and deadlines for multiple ongoing projects effectively.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain confidentiality and discretion when handling sensitive information.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering.
  • 2+ years of prosecution experience at a law firm or in-house, with a strong emphasis on portfolio management.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in video processing and video codecs.
  • Familiarity with video coding standards.
  • Experience in virtual/augmented reality and AI is preferred.
  • Graduate-level experience or an advanced technical degree is a plus.
  • Admission to the USPTO is preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to adapt to evolving job responsibilities and Firm needs.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain composure and make decisions under pressure.

Education/Certifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering.
  • Admission to the USPTO is preferred.
