A law firm based in Portland is seeking an Of Counsel with extensive litigation experience, preferably in employment law. The ideal candidate will defend and litigate lawsuits involving various employment-related claims, represent employers in court and administrative proceedings, provide legal counsel on labor and employment laws, and possess exceptional written and oral communication skills. A Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA accredited law school is required, along with active admission to the Oregon Bar or the ability to obtain admission quickly.

 

Duties:

  • Defend and litigate lawsuits concerning a wide range of employment-related claims and agency charges of discrimination.
  • Represent employers in court, administrative agencies, mediations, and arbitrations in employment matters, including class/collective actions, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, contract disputes, employment torts, and non-compete cases.
  • Provide legal advice and counsel to employers on labor and employment laws and regulations.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA accredited law school.
  • Active admission to the Oregon Bar or the ability to obtain admission quickly.
  • 8+ years of litigation experience, with a strong background in employment law preferred.
  • Understanding of current court and employment-related agency (state and federal) procedures.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (.) from an ABA accredited law school.

 

Certifications:

Active admission to the Oregon Bar or the ability to obtain admission quickly.
