A law firm in Boston, MA, is seeking a CODISCOVR Counsel with prior experience as a litigator preferred. The ideal candidate will have experience in leading discovery strategy and execution on matters with large-scale discovery needs, managing large-scale review teams, negotiating ESI protocols, attending meet and confers, preparing discovery-related witnesses, understanding preservation, collection, and compliance features of corporate IT systems, understanding the implications of records retention/destruction, collection options and processes, experience with cost estimates, billing and reporting, and managing multiple matters simultaneously. The candidate must be licensed in the jurisdiction in which they sit and possess excellent client service skills. Additionally, the candidate should be able to train and lead more junior attorneys and develop and grow relationships with existing clients.

Duties:

  • Lead discovery strategy and execution on matters with large-scale discovery needs.
  • Manage large-scale review teams effectively and efficiently.
  • Negotiate ESI protocols and attend meetings and conferences.
  • Prepare discovery-related witnesses for litigation proceedings.
  • Understand the preservation, collection, and compliance features of corporate IT systems.
  • Assess implications of records retention/destruction and advise clients accordingly.
  • Provide expertise in collection options and processes.
  • Develop and implement cost estimates, billing, and reporting procedures.
  • Manage multiple matters concurrently, ensuring timely and quality delivery of services.
  • Train and mentor junior attorneys on discovery processes and best practices.
  • Cultivate and strengthen relationships with existing clients through exemplary service delivery and proactive communication.

Requirements:

  • Prior experience as a litigator, preferably with a focus on discovery matters.
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in the jurisdiction of residence.
  • Excellent client service skills with a strong focus on client satisfaction.
  • Ability to effectively train and lead more junior attorneys.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously.
