A law firm in Meridian, ID, is seeking an Associate Attorney. The candidate will handle collection and litigation matters, possessing excellent written, analytical, and oral advocacy skills. Responsibilities include managing a high-volume caseload, handling breach of contract and collection litigation matters from demand through judgment, attending court hearings, preparing and arguing Motions for Summary Judgment, and managing assigned caseload to meet goals and client expectations.

 

Duties:

  • Work on collection and litigation matters.
  • Handle breach of contract and collection litigation matters from demand through judgment.
  • Attend court hearings (telephonic and in person).
  • Prepare and argue Motions for Summary Judgment.
  • Manage assigned caseload to meet goals and client expectations.
  • Handle escalated and time-sensitive matters as needed.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as needed.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to practice law in the state of California; multi-jurisdictional admission in AZ, CA, NV, and FL preferred.
  • Experience with the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act (“FDCPA”) and Article 9 of the Uniform Commercial Code (“UCC”) a plus.

 

Skills:

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent research skills using legal and non-legal sources.
  • Proficiency in software tools including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.
