A law firm in Chicago is seeking a Mid-Level Class Action Associate Attorney with 3-5 years of litigation experience. The ideal candidate should possess superior writing, research, and analytical skills, with a preference for experience gained at an AmLaw 100 firm. This position requires expertise in class action defense, complex commercial litigation, securities, and consumer litigation.

 

Duties:

  • Conduct legal research and analysis related to class action defense, commercial litigation, securities, and consumer litigation matters.
  • Prepare pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
  • Assist in all aspects of case management, including discovery, trial preparation, and settlement negotiations.
  • Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with clients, colleagues, and external parties.
  • Produce timely, accurate, and high-quality work products.
  • Adhere to firm policies, practices, and ethical standards.
  • Participate in meetings, conferences, and virtual calls as required.
  • Perform additional tasks or projects as assigned.

 

Requirements:

  • JD degree from a nationally recognized law school.
  • Admission to the State Bar or eligibility for admission via reciprocity.
  • 3-5 years of litigation experience, preferably at an AmLaw 100 firm.
  • Strong academic background.
  • Experience with class action defense, complex commercial litigation, securities, and consumer litigation.
  • Superior writing, research, and analytical skills.
  • Previous federal clerkship (preferred).
  • Ability to manage a multi-matter docket effectively.

 

Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools and databases.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal software applications.
