A law firm in Dallas, TX, is seeking an Immigration Attorney - EOIR to join their team. Reporting to the Senior Associate Attorney, the candidate will manage their caseload, providing legal representation to non-detained and detained individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals. Strong interpersonal skills and experience with various immigration applications are required.

 

Duties:

  • Explain immigration concepts and present strategic solutions to clients.
  • Represent non-detained and detained individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals.
  • Manage workload of cases, including preparing diverse immigration applications and legal briefs.
  • Conduct intake interviews with detained individuals at centers.
  • Review immigration applications/packets and make necessary adjustments.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community-based organizations on changes in immigration law.
  • Meet with potential clients for strategic immigration consultations and determine necessary strategy.
  • Prepare clients and witnesses for court and USCIS testimony.
  • Provide legal analysis to clients to determine possible case benefits.
  • Present to and work with various agencies on immigration matters.
  • Preferably bilingual (Spanish).
  • Experience with Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian, EOIR, Detained, Citizenship, and other USCIS applications.
  • Experience with Case Management Software is preferred.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctorate (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • 1-5 years of Immigration Law Experience.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with various immigration applications and removal defense.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish preferred.
