Job Description

Maersk Warehousing and Distribution USA LLC is looking for an experienced In-House Counsel to join their team in El Segundo, USA. This position provides legal support to Maersk’s fulfillment business unit which includes e-commerce, warehousing and distribution and cold chain products. The successful candidate will be able to hit the ground running, have a positive attitude, quickly understand the objectives of the company and work hard to assist the company in achieving those objectives.

Responsibilities:

• Draft, review, negotiate and manage customer logistics contracts and vendor procurement contracts.
• Support real estate lease negotiation and management.
• Support risk management and safety team initiatives.
• Participate in strategic transactions and help drive growth strategy.
• Conduct legal research and provide legal advice on key issues affecting the company.
• Become familiar with laws and regulations affecting the company including DOT, air quality, labor and employment, privacy, OSHA, etc. and assist the company with compliance in these areas.
• Consult with various business leaders regarding transportation and warehousing compliance, contracts and commercial matters, litigation, and corporate governance.

Requirements:

• Problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Strong commercial contracting experience.
• Logistics industry experience preferred but not required.
• Strong references.
• Work ethic.

Pay Range:

$170,000-$200,000*

*The above stated pay range is the anticipated starting salary range for the position. The Company may adjust this range in light of prevailing market conditions and other factors such as location. The Company will work directly with the selected candidate(s) on the final starting salary in accordance with all applicable laws.

The pay range for the In-House Counsel position at Maersk Warehousing and Distribution USA LLC is $170,000-$200,000*. The Company may adjust this range in light of prevailing market conditions and other factors such as location. The Company will work directly with the selected candidate(s) on the final starting salary in accordance with all applicable laws.
