## Responsibilities

Baker Tilly has opportunities for candidates at various entry levels, to pursue a technical tax career path, serving industry team colleagues and firm clients. This is a great opportunity to be a valued advisor, supporting its sophisticated and proactive federal tax practice. Candidates will work side-by-side with local industry team client facing tax colleagues, helping to apply tax law to industry specific client fact patterns, yielding client valued results. Both the work and the professional development will be supported by fellow industry team tax technicians and by BT firm level specialty tax teams. Additionally, candidates will have the opportunity to utilize their knowledge and experience to help teach talented tax staff on new tax legislation, administrative pronouncements and judicial rulings, often with a specific industry applications.

## Qualifications

Successful candidates should have:

* A Master Degree in Taxation and/or Law Degree, and Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting is desirable
* CPA or JD
* Ability to cite various tax Code sections, regulations, and rulings, by number or name
* Self-starter attitude
* Diligent reader of daily tax developments
* Strong verbal and writing communication skills
* Intellectual curiosity
* Ability to connect with experienced tax colleagues to brainstorm and calibrate
* Ability to teach
* Strong familiarity with tax research tools
* Completeness in research and problem solving, able to see the “big picture” and to identify logically associated ancillary issues
* Appropriate ethical knowledge and commitment, and exhibit a sense of urgency and commitment to quality and the timely completion of projects
