The Florida Attorney General's Internship Program offers law students the opportunity to gain practical experience in civil litigation while interning with the Office of the Attorney General. This program is open to students enrolled in an accredited ABA law school and offers unpaid internships for academic credit. Students can also participate through law school sponsored programs such as Pro Bono Programs, Law School sponsored clinics, and Law School Paid Stipend programs.

The Office of the Attorney General represents the State of Florida, its agencies, officers, employees, and agents in both state and federal courts at the trial and appellate levels. The Civil Litigation Division also handles civil actions related to administrative, bankruptcy, corrections, eminent domain, employment, forfeitures, foreclosures, state programs, and tort litigation. The Attorney General also has common law duties and responsibilities to protect the public's interest, which are assigned to the Civil Litigation Division.

As a law student intern, you will have the opportunity to work on meaningful and challenging cases, gaining practical experience in a legal field. This internship is an excellent opportunity to enhance your skills and contribute to the completion of your degree.

Key Responsibilities:

- Represent the State of Florida and its agencies, officers, employees, and agents in civil litigation cases
- Handle civil actions related to administrative, bankruptcy, corrections, eminent domain, employment, forfeitures, foreclosures, state programs, and tort litigation
- Conduct legal research and writing
- Assist with case preparation and strategy
- Attend court hearings and trials
- Participate in client meetings and conferences
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervising attorneys

Qualifications:

- Must be enrolled in an accredited ABA law school
- Strong academic record
- Excellent research and writing skills
- Interest in civil litigation and public service
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Available to intern a minimum of 20 hours per week
