Job Summary: Deloitte is seeking a Tax Manager to join their Business Tax Services (Insurance Industry) practice. The ideal candidate will have experience in federal taxation, strong client relationship management skills, and a desire to work in the insurance and financial services industries. As a Tax Manager, you will lead teams, develop client relationships, and provide federal tax compliance and consulting services to a variety of clients in the insurance industry. This role requires the ability to work in a hybrid model, with in-person co-location 2-3 days per week, and may involve up to 25% travel. Responsibilities: - Building and maintaining strong client relationships within the insurance industry - Overseeing complex federal tax compliance and consulting projects for various entities and their affiliates - Managing engagement team resources, workflow, and billing - Consulting with other service lines and peers on tax issues - Staying informed and educating others on trends and developments in the insurance industry - Delivering professional and timely services to internal and external customers Qualifications: Required: - 5+ years of experience in federal taxation - Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field - Experience managing client relationships and engagement teams - Strong knowledge of tax code and regulations, as well as GAAP and SSAP - Technologically inclined with the ability to communicate complex tax issues effectively - Active accreditation such as CPA, attorney, enrolled agent, or CFA/CFP Preferred: - Advanced degree such as Masters of Tax, JD, or LLM - Previous experience at a Big 4 or large CPA firm - Proficiency with SSAP 101 Salary and Benefits: The wage range for this role is $84,980 to $193,440 and may vary based on factors such as skill sets, experience, and location.
