The candidate will primarily perform patent prosecution, freedom-to-operate analysis, and due diligence work, focusing on various chemical subjects including organic, synthetic, and medicinal chemistry, as well as material science.
 
Job Details:
• Assess scientific literature, patents, and patent application documents across a range of chemical subjects.
• Provide insightful opinions on scientific data related to inventions.
• Conduct comprehensive searches for scientific articles, patents, and patent application documents relevant to inventions.
• Perform in-depth analysis comparing inventions with existing discoveries or inventions, identifying essential elements, features, or components.
• Compose patent applications with comprehensive background descriptions, critical features, and distinct claims.
• Draft responses to rejections of patent applications, providing detailed analysis, assessing differences, and presenting convincing arguments for allowance.
• Present ideas, reasoning, and conclusions concisely to colleagues and provide insightful feedback and arguments.
• Collaborate with clients on innovative technologies to procure patent protection and build IP portfolios.
• USPTO admission required.
 
Requirements:
• Advanced degree in organic chemistry.
• 6 years of post-baccalaureate laboratory research experience.
• Should have patent prosecution experience.
 
Education:
Advanced degree in organic chemistry.
 
Certifications:
USPTO admission required.
 
Skills:
