A law firm in Boston is actively seeking a Traditional Labor Associate Attorney with 5+ years of experience. The role involves advising and counseling employers on federal and Massachusetts workplace laws, conducting due diligence for workplace law issues in acquisitions/mergers, handling unfair labor practice charges at the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB), and various other responsibilities related to labor relations and workplace issues. The ideal candidate should have a JD from an accredited law school, MA Bar Admission, and a deep understanding of current agency enforcement techniques. Bilingual Spanish is preferred.

 

Duties:

  • Provide advice and counsel to employers on federal and Massachusetts workplace laws.
  • Conduct due diligence on employer operations for workplace law issues in acquisitions/mergers.
  • Handle unfair labor practice charges at the NLRB.
  • Research and write legal documents.
  • Represent management in NLRB elections.
  • Advise employers on union organizing, corporate campaigns, card check, and neutrality agreements.
  • Negotiate and/or provide legal advice on collective bargaining agreements.
  • Handle grievance, arbitration, and unfair labor practice proceedings.
  • Obtain mass picketing injunctions.
  • Advise employers on wage and hour issues, leave management, disability accommodation, and other workplace matters.
  • Review handbooks, policies, forms, compensation plans, and bonus plans for compliance.
  • Conduct management training on labor relations, workplace issues, and harassment/discrimination/retaliation.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as reasonably assigned.

 

Requirements:

  • JD from an accredited law school.
  • MA Bar Admission.
  • 5+ years of traditional labor law experience preferred.
  • Understanding of current agency (state and federal) enforcement techniques.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Bilingual Spanish is preferred.
