Job Description Director, Privacy & Data Protection - BDO is seeking a Director to join BDO’s thriving Privacy & Data Protection (PDP) Practice as a data protection and privacy subject matter expert and engagement leader. BDO’s PDP practice provides global solutions for our clients to address their data protection and privacy needs. Summary:

BDO is seeking a Director to join the thriving Privacy & Data Protection (PDP) Practice as a subject matter expert and engagement leader. This position offers the opportunity to work with both domestic and international clients and professionals. The Director will be responsible for maintaining client relationships, developing new opportunities, and ensuring quality work product for clients. This position also involves managing project teams and adhering to BDO's quality and risk management frameworks.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and deliver global data protection and privacy strategies to client C-suite/board
- Build cross-cultural functionality for clients to operationalize global privacy programs
- Manage BDO USA team members and collaborate with BDO Member Firms and offshore team members
- Provide detailed information to clients on various domestic and global privacy laws
- Guide and advise team members on project budget and scheduling
- Establish new relationships to drive opportunities for BDO
- Comply with BDO's Quality Risk Management, Data Protection, and other frameworks
- Manage and maintain relationships with client professionals and introduce other BDO professionals to expand on existing relationships
- Ensure timely and thoughtful responses to client questions and requests
- Build relationships with other BDO professionals, cross-sell into different industries and services, and participate in BDO and industry events
- Update customer relationship management for appropriate pipeline reporting
- Review executive reports and provide feedback to team members
- Develop proposals, respond to RFP/RFI's, and manage Master Service Agreements and engagement letters according to BDO standards
- Utilize knowledge of client needs to develop project and resource plans, establish reporting and metrics, and provide regular updates to clients
- Participate in and conduct interviews and meetings with various business units, legal, IT, privacy, and governance teams
- Proofread and edit executive reports before presenting them to prospects and clients
- Manage client and BDO Partner expectations at all levels
- Mentor team members to ensure consistent quality work product and adherence to BDO standards
- Manage multiple large and complex engagements and clients
- Support the Data Protection Officer for clients as required
- Develop and manage project budgets and review invoices for consistency and timely delivery
- Act as a leader and maintain a professional and positive attitude towards clients and firm personnel
- Manage a team of professionals on a project or regional basis

Supervisory Responsibilities:

- Ensure training of Sr. Managers, Managers, Senior Associates, and Associates on relevant software, tools, and processes
- Evaluate performance of Sr. Managers, Managers, Senior Associates, and Associates and assist in their professional development
- Deliver periodic performance feedback and complete evaluations in accordance with Firm guidance
- Mentor Sr. Managers, Managers, Senior Associates, and Associates as appropriate

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree required, Master's, Juris Doctorate, or MBA preferred
- 10+ years of consulting experience required
- 3+ years of data protection or privacy experience required
- Experience working with Fortune 500 clients preferred
- 5+ years of experience managing large, complex privacy projects required

Certifications and Skills:

- One or more privacy certifications (CIPP/E, CIPP/US, CIPM, CIPT, CDPSE) required
- Experience with OneTrust, TrustArc, or other privacy enabled technology solutions preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Office Suite required, knowledge of database systems and software development preferred
- Multilingual capabilities preferred

Other Requirements:

- Executive presence and ability to act as primary ,000
- Colorado Range: $200,000 - $225,000
- NYC/Long Island/Westchester Range: $200,000 - $225,000
