Overview:
-This position is responsible for compliance management, legal counsel activities, and serving as a representative on the Volvo Group's global Compliance Leadership Team.
-The successful candidate will have the opportunity to shape the governance structures and organizational direction of the compliance function.
-This is a hybrid role based in Greensboro, NC, USA, with occasional domestic and international travel required.

Responsibilities:
-Compliance Management:
-Provide guidance and training on compliance-related matters.
-Lead the Mack Trucks and VTNA compliance committee.
-Develop and implement compliance programs to ensure adherence to laws, regulations, and internal policies.
-Propose compliance governance structures to ensure effective implementation and risk management.
-Report on compliance activities and KPIs.
-Conduct regular audits and assessments.
-Collaborate with other Volvo Group compliance officers and business areas.

-Compliance Leadership Team:
-Serve as a representative on the Volvo Group's global Compliance Leadership Team.
-Participate in scoping of compliance training and communication strategy.
-Support the development of the Volvo Group's compliance training strategy.
-Participate in best-practice sharing.

-Regulatory Compliance:
-Stay abreast of changes in laws, regulations, and industry standards.
-Interpret regulatory requirements and assess their impact on company policies and procedures.
-Liaise with regulatory agencies and external legal counsel as necessary.

-Legal Counsel Activities:
-Review, draft, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements.
-Draft dealer policies and bulletins.
-Provide legal advice and support for competition law, anti-corruption, privacy, and export control.
-Handle other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:
-Juris Doctorate from an Accredited Law School and license to practice law in at least one state.
-Minimum of 5 years prior legal and compliance experience as a compliance officer or in-house counsel.
-Subject matter expertise in competition law, anti-corruption law, privacy law, and/or export control law.
-Experience in the transportation industry or with automotive or heavy truck products is a plus.
