A law firm is seeking a Mid-Level IP Litigation (Life Sciences) Associate Attorney for their New York City location. The candidate should be a dynamic individual with a strong background in intellectual property matters, particularly in patent and/or trade secret litigation within the life sciences sector.

 

Job Overview:

The Mid-Level IP Litigation (Life Sciences) Associate Attorney will be responsible for handling a variety of intellectual property litigation matters, with a focus on cases within the life sciences industry. This role will involve working closely with clients to provide legal counsel and representation in patent and trade secret disputes, as well as offering strategic guidance on ongoing matters.

 

Duties:

  • Representing clients in intellectual property litigation matters, including patent and trade secret disputes within the life sciences sector.
  • Conducting legal research and analysis to support case strategies and client initiatives.
  • Drafting pleadings, motions, and other legal documents for court filings.
  • Participating in all phases of litigation, including discovery, trial preparation, and hearings.
  • Collaborating with partners, associates, and clients to develop effective litigation strategies and solutions.
  • Providing legal counsel and guidance to clients on intellectual property issues and risk management.

 

Requirements:

  • Admission to a State Bar is required.
  • Strong academic credentials in law and undergraduate coursework.
  • Undergraduate degree in Biology, Chemistry, Materials Science, Genetics, or Biochemistry is preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience with intellectual property matters, specifically in patent and/or trade secret litigation.
  • Excellent leadership skills and ability to take on increased levels of responsibility.
  • Outstanding research and analytical skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Sound legal and business knowledge in working on a broad spectrum of cases and counseling clients with respect to ongoing matters.

 

Education & Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to a State Bar.

 

Skills:

  • Proficiency in legal research and analysis.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Leadership and organizational skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
