The Assistant Attorney General will provide legal advice and representation to state agencies, boards, and commissions. They will also be responsible for appearing in state and appellate courts as well as adjudicative hearings. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of professional experience in the practice of law and must be a licensed attorney in the State of Oklahoma. Strong writing skills, oral advocacy skills, and employment law experience are required for this role.

Job Description:

The Oklahoma Office of the Attorney General is looking for an Assistant Attorney General to join their Legal Counsel Unit. In this position, you will provide legal advice and representation to state agencies, boards, and commissions. This includes advising agencies on their duties and powers, representing them in legal proceedings, and prosecuting holders of professional licenses. You will also be responsible for appearing in state and appellate courts and adjudicative hearings.

Responsibilities:

- Provide legal advice and representation to state agencies, boards, and commissions
- Advise agencies on their lawful duties and powers
- Represent agencies in administrative proceedings, employment proceedings, and civil and appellate litigation
- Prosecute holders of professional licenses before Boards
- Appear in state and appellate courts and adjudicative hearings
- Conduct legal research and analysis
- Prepare and review legal documents
- Communicate effectively with clients and colleagues

Qualifications:

- Licensed attorney in the State of Oklahoma
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in the practice of law
- Strong writing skills and oral advocacy skills
- Experience with contract review and employment law
- Ability to research, analyze, and understand complex information
- Willingness to complete a background investigation
