Job Overview:

The Trust and Estates and Medicaid Attorney will work closely with clients, managing cases from inception to conclusion. They will handle estate planning and/or administration, public benefit applications, elder law matters, and asset protection plans. The attorney will counsel clients on financial products, income, and estate tax matters, and provide options and recommendations. Regular consultation with supervising attorneys is required, along with court appearances and status updates on cases.

Duties:

  • Handle estate planning and/or estate administration.
  • Manage public benefits applications, elder law issues, and asset protection plans.
  • Counsel clients on financial products and tax implications.
  • Conduct legal research and develop asset protection strategies.
  • Prepare legal documents and present options to clients.
  • Attend court appearances as necessary.

Requirements:

  • JD from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the New York State Bar.
  • 5 years of experience in trust and estate administration.
  • Demonstrative knowledge of Trust & Estates law, Medicaid/Public Benefits law, and Elder law.
  • Familiarity with legal proceedings and processes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
