A law firm in Fort Myers, FL, is seeking a Liability Attorney with 3-7 years of experience in liability insurance defense. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing cases from inception to trial and providing legal representation to clients in liability cases. Active membership in the Florida Bar is a prerequisite for this role. The Liability Attorney will contribute to the successful resolution of legal matters by advocating for clients and handling all aspects of the litigation process.

Duties:

• Provide legal representation to clients in liability cases, with a focus on insurance defense.
• Manage cases from their initial stages through trial, including case preparation, research, and trial advocacy.
• Conduct thorough legal research, case investigations, and analysis to support client matters.
• Draft, review, and edit a variety of legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, and settlement agreements.
• Participate in negotiations, mediations, and court proceedings.
• Prepare for and attend depositions, hearings, trials, and other legal proceedings.
• Effectively represent clients in hearings and trials, advocating for their interests.
• Maintain organized case files, documentation, and client communication.
• Stay up-to-date with relevant laws, regulations, and industry trends.
• Collaborate with colleagues, clients, and experts to develop effective legal strategies and solutions.
• Provide regular case progress updates and legal advice to clients.

Requirements:

• 3-7 years of experience in liability insurance defense.
• Active membership in the Florida Bar.
• Ability to manage cases from inception to trial.
• Strong research, analytical, and legal writing skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Proficiency in conducting legal research and analysis.

Certifications:

• Active membership in the Florida Bar is mandatory for this role.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
