Job Overview:

The Associate Attorney will primarily work with their supervising attorney and administrative members of the law firm, including paralegals, legal clerks, and legal assistants. The role involves communicating with clients, developing legal strategies, assisting with case management, and ensuring compliance with statutory deadlines.

Duties:

  • Communicate with clients and develop legal strategies under the guidance of the supervising attorney.
  • Stay informed about client matters and maintain/build relationships with clients.
  • Prepare legal documents and attend hearings, mediations, trials, and arbitrations.
  • Maintain a minimum of 35 billable hours per week.
  • Timely complete tasks assigned by the supervising attorney.
  • Research legal issues and draft various pleadings and motions.
  • Ensure compliance with all statutory deadlines.
  • Attend and participate in hearings, mediations, and arbitrations as needed.
  • Assist with other tasks as assigned by the supervising attorney.
  • Promptly respond to client communications (typically within 24 hours).
  • Prepare for Strategy Meetings with the supervising attorney and actively participate in discussions regarding case status, upcoming deadlines, and case strategy.
  • Continually evaluate cases to ensure the best possible outcome for the client.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Juris Doctor or equivalent from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law and/or membership in the State Bar of Texas.
  • 3-7 years of relevant experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong research, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate when necessary.
  • Ability to function well in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Education and Certifications:
