Position Summary:

- Seeking a tax specialist with experience in federal/tax and/or partnership tax compliance
- Frustrated with traditional role in tax compliance
- Passion for client consultation and improving computational software applications and proprietary solutions

Work You'll Do:

- Refine skills by working with large-scale operating partnership tax clients
- Diversify industry experience by working with various industries including private equity, healthcare, tech, financial products, oil & gas, green energy, real estate, consumer products, and more
- Deliver value to clients going through public offerings and interact with external counsel, underwriters, client executives, and capital market professionals
- Assist clients with public offering transactions including initial proxy and registration statements
- Work with Up-C clients on an ongoing basis during periodic service periods
- Develop understanding of public monetization transactional process, including tax receivable agreements
- Create cutting-edge technology related to . federal income tax principles for partnership tax, data analytics, and user experience
- Implement strategic tax structures and processes, and oversee complex tax computation projects for clients
- Determine and solve complexities with . federal income tax impact of public offerings
- Participate in marketplace activities, recruiting, and process and technology innovation
- Identify service opportunities, manage client accounts, and advance various Deloitte initiatives

- NFTS service offerings are developed and built to deliver results for clients
- People are entrepreneurial in spirit and have a work-hard/play-hard mentality
- NFTS service lines provide tax planning for the largest organizations across all industries
- Operational Partnership Services (OPS) service line is part of the Partnership Solutions Group within NFTS
- OPS professionals counsel privately-held and publicly-traded partnerships on federal tax and issues involving Up-C, mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, IPOs, post-offering assistance, and process design and improvement
- Industries served by OPS practice include private equity, real estate, telecom, technology, healthcare, media & entertainment, energy, retail, and financial services

Qualifications:

Required:

- Ability to work within hybrid work model (in person 2-3 days per week)
- 2+ years of experience in federal partnership tax
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or business-related field
- Numerical-problem-solving focus
- Aptitude in MS Project, Word, Excel, and Visio
- Experience working in fast-paced, team environment
- Demonstrated research skills
- Self-starter with ability to handle multiple, competing priorities
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to travel up to 25% based on work and clients served
- One of the following accreditations obtained, in process, or willing and able to obtain:
- Licensed CPA in state of practice/primary office if eligible to sit for the CPA
- If not CPA eligible:
- Licensed Attorney
- Enrolled Agent
- Certifications:
- Chartered Financial Advisor (CFA)
- Certified Financial Planner (CFP)

Preferred:

- Advanced degree such as master's in science of tax (MST), JD, or LLM
- Previous Big 4 or large CPA firm experience
- Transaction and M&A experience
- Alteryx experience

Salary Information:

- Range takes into account factors such as skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs
- Range estimate not adjusted for geographic differential
- Compensation decisions are made on a case-by-case basis
- Reasonable estimate of current range: $77,070 - $175,500
