A law firm is seeking a Mid-level Intellectual Property - Life Sciences Associate Attorney for their Boston office. The ideal candidate will possess a . in a life sciences technology area such as molecular biology, immunology, biochemistry, or cell biology, alongside the necessary qualifications and skills to handle patent prosecution and counseling projects. The Mid-level Intellectual Property - Life Sciences Associate Attorney will be responsible for providing legal counsel and support on patent prosecution and counseling projects within the life sciences sector, particularly focusing on emerging companies involved in antibodies, DNA or RNA therapeutics, chemical biology, gene-editing, and related areas.

 

Duties:

  • Conducting patent prosecution and drafting patent applications related to life sciences technologies.
  • Providing legal advice and support on intellectual property matters, including patentability assessments, freedom-to-operate analyses, and due diligence reviews.
  • Managing client relationships and communication regarding intellectual property strategies and portfolio management.
  • Conducting legal research and analysis to support client initiatives and litigation efforts in the life sciences field.
  • Collaborating with other attorneys and stakeholders within the firm to provide comprehensive legal services to clients.

 

Requirements:

  • Advanced degree (.) in a life sciences technology area, preferably in molecular biology, immunology, biochemistry, or cell biology.
  • Patent Bar membership (USPTO Registration Number) is required.
  • 1-5 years of patent prosecution experience in a biotechnology practice.
  • Strong understanding of intellectual property laws and regulations, particularly related to patent prosecution and counseling in the life sciences industry.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced legal environment.
