A law firm in New York City is seeking a Senior Cyber/Data/Privacy Associate Attorney or Special Counsel with a high level of academic achievement from a nationally recognized law school. The ideal candidate should demonstrate the ability to engage directly with clients, lead significant projects, possess general tech fluency, and have impeccable analytical and writing skills.

 

Duties:

  • Directly engage with clients and lead significant projects in the areas of Cyber, Data, and Privacy law.
  • Provide legal counsel on regulatory investigations or litigation involving consumer protection issues (State AG, FTC, and other regulatory agencies).
  • Defend against data privacy and security class actions, including claims under the Stored Communications Act, wiretapping claims, unfair and deceptive trade practices, and data breach class actions.
  • Conduct legal research, draft legal documents, and provide strategic advice on cyber and privacy matters.

 

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of experience focusing on regulatory investigations or litigation involving consumer protection issues.
  • Well-versed in defending data privacy and security class actions.
  • High level of academic achievement from a nationally recognized law school.
  • General tech fluency.
  • Impeccable analytical and writing skills.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (.) from a nationally recognized law school.

 

Certifications:

Relevant certifications in Cyber, Data, or Privacy law are advantageous.

 

Skills:

  • Strong legal research and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to lead and manage significant projects.
