Corporate Counsel, Compliance - Join Okta's Legal Department as Corporate Counsel, Compliance and play a key role in supporting the company's ethical culture and building its global ethics program. With a focus on mitigating compliance risks, you will advise on a range of topics and monitor global regulations to ensure Okta's compliance. This role requires a JD and 7+ years of legal experience, as well as knowledge of ethics and compliance program requirements, best practices, and DOJ guidelines. Experience: - 7+ years of legal experience - In-house legal department and/or top-tier law firm - JD and good standing to practice law in relevant jurisdiction - In depth knowledge of ethics and compliance program requirements, best practices, and DOJ guidelines - Experience advising multinational, publicly traded companies - Experience in-house at a company with a channel-based business model is a plus Responsibilities: - Develop and implement policies and procedures to mitigate compliance risks - Advise on a range of topics, including conflicts of interest, anti-bribery and anti-corruption, competition, human rights, third party risks, and gifts and entertainment - Monitor developing global regulations to identify potential impact to Okta - Work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with international and domestic laws and regulations - Assist with compliance risk assessments and audits - Create, develop, and deliver compliance trainings - Promote Okta's ethical culture through global communications and outreach - Collaborate with cross-functional internal investigations team on implementation of compliance remediation - Develop data driven metrics to capture program developments and progress - Assist in quarterly reporting on ethics and compliance program developments What you'll bring to the role: - JD and good standing to practice law in relevant jurisdiction - In depth knowledge of ethics and compliance program requirements, best practices, and DOJ guidelines - Strong ethics and integrity, sound judgment, and the ability to maintain confidentiality over sensitive compliance matters - Attention to detail, critical thinking, excellent problem-solving - Excellent written and verbal communication skills - Experience driving and tracking progress on cross-functional projects - Flexible, pragmatic, and able to quickly adjust priorities to meet business needs - Strong organizational skills, an ability to juggle multiple projects at a time in a fast-moving, quickly-changing environment, both collaborating as a team and working independently - Self-motivated – showing initiative and perseverance, resourcefulness, a strong work ethic, and a collaborative approach - Sense of humor!
