Job Title: Tax Manager - Business Tax Services - Healthcare Tax Exempt
Experience: 5+ years in federal taxation with a strong emphasis on tax-exempt organizations
Salary Range: $84,980 to $193,440 (dependent on qualifications and experience)

Position Summary:

- Seeking experienced federal tax professional for Deloitte's Business Tax Services Tax-Exempt practice
- This role focuses on providing tax compliance and consulting services to non-profit clients in the healthcare industry
- Opportunity to work with a variety of non-profit organizations and assist in improving their community impact through philanthropy
- Access to an elite group of specialists and strong support system for career growth and success

What You'll Do:

- Spend at least half (potentially 100%) of your time serving non-profit clients including health care providers or plans, private foundations, public charities, higher educational institutions and other non-profit organizations
- Provide tax compliance and consulting services including restructuring, acquisition planning, tax controversy, philanthropic tax planning, unrelated business tax consulting and more
- Work directly with sophisticated clients, manage the tax engagement team, and collaborate with like-minded Tax-Exempt specialists from across the country
- Responsibilities include maintaining client relationships, advising on tax issues, overseeing compliance projects, managing team resources, and providing technical training and leadership

The Team:

- Large national team of dedicated experienced professionals committed to serving nonprofit organizations and sophisticated donors
- Comprised of PPMDS, multi-state tax compliance, international tax compliance and consulting, and transfer tax planning specialists
- Collaborates with Consulting, Audit & Assurance, and Advisory colleagues on client projects
- Cross-functional team, including tax, audit, and consulting professionals from Deloitte's Global Center for Excellence in Philanthropy (GCEP)

Qualifications:

Required:

- Ability to perform job responsibilities within a hybrid work model that requires US Tax professionals to co-locate in person 2-3 days per week
- 5+ years’ experience in federal taxation with a strong emphasis on tax-exempt organizations in the healthcare industry
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance or other business-related field
- Licensed CPA in state of practice/primary office, or licensed attorney, enrolled agent, or certifications such as CFA or CFP
- Ability to travel up to 25% based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve

Preferred:

- Advanced degree such as Masters of Tax, JD, and/or LLM
- Previous Big 4 or large CPA firm experience
- Solid understanding and experience with federal tax compliance, tax analysis, and tax research
- Solid understanding of mergers, acquisitions, and restructuring specific to tax-exempt organizations
- Excellent research, writing, presentation, and communication skills
- Strong management and analytical skills
