A law firm in Chicago, IL, is seeking an Associate Attorney to work in areas of practice including products liability, premises liability, construction negligence, and general tort and commercial matters.

 

Duties:

  • Draft pleadings, including complaints, answers, motions, and discovery requests
  • Answer written discovery, including interrogatories, requests for production, and requests for admission
  • Take and defend depositions of witnesses and experts
  • Prepare dispositive motions, such as motions for summary judgment or dismissal
  • Assist in trial preparation, including drafting trial briefs, organizing exhibits, and preparing witnesses
  • Conduct legal research on relevant case law and statutes
  • Analyze complex legal issues and provide strategic advice to clients
  • Attend court hearings, conferences, and settlement negotiations as necessary
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date case files and records

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school
  • Admitted to practice law in Illinois
  • Significant experience in drafting pleadings, answering discovery, taking depositions, and preparing dispositive motions
  • Prior experience in products liability, premises liability, construction negligence, or related areas preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload effectively

 

Education:
