Duties:

  • Make appearances in court for routine and contested hearings.
  • Develop case strategy and draft pleadings, motions, and discovery documents.

  • Manage a caseload of contested matters for residential and commercial mortgage lenders and investors.
  • Argue motions necessary to successfully complete routine and contested foreclosure and title disputes.
  • Regularly communicate with clients for updates and case resolution.
  • Analyze loan files, title reports, and other relevant documents.
  • Draft motions and prepare written discovery and responses.
  • Assisted in reviewing associates' work and collaborating on effective resolution strategies.

Requirements:

  • Licensed in Illinois and good standing with the Illinois Bar.
  • 3-5 years of relevant litigation experience involving commercial and residential mortgage foreclosure, creditor rights, and civil litigation (preferred).
  • Knowledge of Illinois Mortgage Foreclosure Law.
  • Familiarity with the Illinois Code of Civil Procedure and Supreme Court Rules.
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills.
  • Excellent writing skills.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team setting.
  • Maintains a high level of professionalism.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for interaction with clients, staff, peers, and management at all levels.
