A law firm in Pittsburgh, PA is seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney to join their team. The candidate will work across various areas of litigation, including insurance coverage, bad faith and defense litigation, business litigation, IP infringement litigation, and employment/trade secret litigation. Responsibilities include assisting lead attorneys in all aspects of litigation, conducting legal research, drafting pleadings and motions, participating in depositions and trials, and engaging with clients. The ideal candidate will have 2-6 years of experience in relevant practice areas, strong research and writing skills, and a good understanding of Pennsylvania state and federal law.

 

Duties:

  • Assist lead attorneys in handling all aspects of litigation, including research, writing, and drafting pleadings and motions.
  • Draft and respond to discovery requests.
  • Participate in document management, review, coding, and production on complex cases.
  • Prepare for and participate in depositions, hearings, and trials.
  • Engage with clients and litigation teams on complex cases.
  • Contribute to strategy development and preparation for hearings, agency tribunal proceedings, and trials.

 

Requirements:

  • Licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania, with preference given to candidates living in the Western Pennsylvania region.
  • 2-6 years of experience in some or all practice areas of insurance coverage or defense and bad faith litigation, business litigation, IP infringement litigation, employment and trade secrets litigation, or cybersecurity and data breach.
  • Experience in deposition, motions, oral argument, and/or courtroom proceedings preferred.
  • Strong writing skills and high-level research abilities.
  • Knowledge of Pennsylvania state and federal law, as well as litigation rules and strategies.
  • Familiarity with insurance coverage, defense, and bad faith litigation preferred.
  • Experience in hearing, trial, and courtroom preparation, and litigation support is advantageous.

 

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to practice law in Pennsylvania.

 

Skills:

  • Legal expertise in various areas of litigation.
  • Proficiency in legal research and writing.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload.
