A law firm in Houston is seeking an Attorney with 3-7 years of defense litigation experience to join their team. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.

 

Job Duties:

  • Regular communications with the client, building and establishing relationships.
  • Advising on status of case, arbitrations, and proceedings.
  • Responding to and preparing discovery.
  • Preparing legal analysis memorandums, briefing, and reports.
  • Conducting and defending depositions.
  • Responding to and preparing motions and engaging in motion practice.
  • Appearing before the Court.
  • Preparing for and attending hearings, mediations, arbitrations, pretrial proceedings, and trial.
  • Preparing post-trial motions and appeals, if required.

 

Requirements:

  • Texas license is required.
  • Good standing active member of the State Bar of Texas.
  • 3-7 years of defense litigation experience preferred.

 

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (.) from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the State Bar of Texas.

 

Skills:

  • Excellent oral and written communications skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Self-starter with proven ability to work independently.
