A law firm is seeking a Patent Agent to join their team in Chicago, IL. This role involves working with clients on innovative technologies to procure patent protection and build IP portfolios.

Job Overview: The Patent Agent will be responsible for drafting, filing, and prosecuting patent applications on behalf of clients. They will also provide support for due diligence, analysis, and validity assessments, as well as support patent litigation. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a global professional team.

Duties:

• Draft, file, and prosecute patent applications
• Provide support for due diligence, landscape analysis, and validity assessments
• Support patent litigation efforts
• Draft responses to patent application rejections
• Interact professionally with internal and external clients
• Establish and maintain internal practices and procedures for patent-related information
• Demonstrate advanced writing skills for clear communication with clients
• Manage multiple tasks and projects to meet deadlines
• Think creatively and exercise good judgment in decision-making

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Sciences, Engineering, or related field
• 2 years of experience in patent prosecution preferred
• Registered with the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO)
