Job Title: Tax Manager - Financial Svcs-Hedge Fund Tax Experience Information: - 5+ years of experience providing tax planning services or preparing and reviewing client work papers and income tax returns. - Experience working in a fast-paced, team environment. - Experience managing projects, including scheduling, budgeting, client correspondence and billing. Position Summary: - Seeking a Tax Manager with a passion for financial products and expertise in tax planning and returns for hedge fund clients. - Responsible for identifying complex tax issues and providing tax analyses for a variety of hedge fund clients and their affiliates. - Must have a solid understanding of Subchapter K, financial products, and related tax adjustments. - Will also be responsible for managing and mentoring team members, as well as attending required training for personal development. The Team: - As a global leader in providing professional services to the Investment Management industry, Deloitte Tax LLP works with clients to address critical issues brought on by regulatory changes, competition, globalization, and technology advancements. - The US tax industry group consists of more than 1,400 professionals providing tax services to a broad range of Investment Management companies. Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or other business-related field required. - Active accreditation such as CPA, licensed attorney, enrolled agent, or certifications such as CFA or CFP preferred. - Advanced degree such as Masters of Tax, JD, and/or LLM is a plus. - Previous experience at a Big 4 or large CPA firm is preferred. - Knowledge of fund accounting and general ledger accounting is a plus. Responsibilities: - Identify complex tax issues and provide tax analyses for hedge fund clients and their affiliates. - Review tax workpapers, allocations, and tax returns in detail. - Perform research to advise on transactional and tax planning opportunities. - Coordinate and communicate with client contacts to gather information. - Train, mentor, and supervise team members. - Attend required national and sector-specific training for personal development.
