Job Overview: A law firm in Chicago, IL, is seeking a Senior-Level Health Care Associate Attorney with a minimum of 5+ years of experience in healthcare regulatory and transactional matters, including mergers and acquisitions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in representing providers and professional entities in healthcare law, including business transactions, regulatory diligence and structuring, fraud and abuse issues, licensure and enrollment, and reimbursement within Medicare and Medicaid frameworks. Additionally, the candidate should possess excellent communication, analytical, problem-solving, and issue-resolution skills and a demonstrated commitment to teamwork and client service.

Duties:

  • Provide legal counsel and representation to clients in health care regulatory and transactional matters.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on health care laws, regulations, and industry trends.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate various agreements, including contracts, leases, and partnership agreements.
  • Assist clients with regulatory compliance, including advising on Stark and anti-kickback laws.
  • Conducted due diligence in healthcare transactions and assisted with deal structuring.
  • Represent clients in administrative proceedings and regulatory audits.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the State Bar in Illinois (or ability to become admitted promptly).
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience practicing health care law, focusing on regulatory and transactional matters.
  • Experience representing providers and professional entities in various aspects of healthcare law.
  • Strong understanding of Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement issues.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Preferred:

  • Experience working in a law firm environment.
  • Familiarity with health care compliance programs.
  • Prior experience with mergers and acquisitions in the healthcare industry.
  • Certification in healthcare law or related field (., Certified in Healthcare Compliance).

Skills:

  • Proficiency in legal research and writing.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex legal concepts effectively.
