The ideal candidate will have a law degree from an accredited . law school and be a member in good standing of the Michigan bar.

Key Responsibilities:

• Gain a thorough understanding of the company's trade-compliance goals and challenges, particularly in the . and China.
• Identify, analyze, and provide solutions to complex trade-compliance issues, collaborating with team members to develop effective strategies.
• Develop policies, procedures, and checklists to ensure compliance and improve processes and controls.
• Advise global trade team members and other departments on trade-compliance matters.
• Work with outside counsel and cross-functional teams to address trade-compliance gaps.
• Conduct trade-compliance training and support the Global Trade Compliance team.
• Assist with trade compliance during merger and acquisition due diligence and integration activities.
• Communicate legal issues and opportunities to internal teams and support internal investigations, audits, and risk assessments.
• Occasionally travel to domestic and international offices.
• Support other projects, initiatives, and strategic opportunities as needed.

Qualifications:

• Law degree from an accredited . law school and admission to the Michigan bar.
• At least 3-5 years of legal experience in trade compliance, preferably in a . multinational technology company or the semiconductor industry.
• Technical/engineering background is a plus.
• Proficiency in . trade-compliance regulations, with a focus on trade law.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact with clients at all levels of the organization.
• Independent and persistent, able to make sound judgments while managing legal risk.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to work independently.
• A drive to continuously improve and develop professional skills.
