## Gwinnett Managing Attorney The Atlanta Legal Aid Society (“Legal Aid”) seeks a Managing Attorney for its Gwinnett County office. This non-profit law firm provides legal representation to low-income people in various areas such as family, housing, consumer, employment, health, public benefits, and education law. This Gwinnett County office is currently comprised of a managing attorney, 6 full-time attorneys, a part-time attorney, 4 paralegals, and 2 support staff. ### Job Responsibilities The Managing Attorney is responsible for the overall management, quality and efficacy of the office. This includes: * Distributing and supervising the work of the staff * Holding staff meetings * Administering performance reviews * Fostering growth and professional development * Working closely with Legal Aid’s management team to coordinate client services * Serving as a primary representative of Legal Aid in the Gwinnett County community * Maintaining relations with the local bench and bar, government, community organizations, and funding sources * Handling an active caseload ### Qualifications Applicants must possess: * A Georgia bar license or eligibility for the next Georgia bar exam * A minimum of five years of experience litigating in various legal forums * Experience managing staff including supervising and mentoring attorneys * Excellent legal writing and oral advocacy skills * Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills * The ability to work in a collaborative, hybrid team model * An appreciation of diversity Previous experience working with low-income people and knowledge of various civil practice areas are preferred. Proficiency in languages other than English is highly valued. ### Salary and Benefits The salary for the Gwinnett Managing Attorney is $65,100+ depending on experience, plus a $4,000 annual manager stipend. Salaries increase annually based on a salary scale.
