A law firm in Pensacola, FL, is seeking a Criminal Defense Attorney with 2+ years of experience, preferably at the State Attorney or The Public Defender’s Office. The candidate will handle various aspects of criminal defense cases, including client meetings, legal research, court appearances, and trial preparation.

 

Duties:

  • Meet with potential clients to discuss their cases.
  • Interview witnesses and gather evidence.
  • Conduct legal research to build a strong defense strategy.
  • Visit clients in custody and provide legal advice.
  • Attend court hearings, trials, and proceedings on behalf of clients.
  • File motions and advocate for clients in court.
  • Examine crime scenes and gather additional evidence.
  • Coordinate with expert witnesses to testify in court.
  • Work on multiple cases simultaneously while maintaining quality representation.
  • Regularly update clients about the progress of their cases.
  • Respond promptly to the urgent needs of clients.
  • Learn and practice family law as required.
  • Attend community service events to promote the firm.
  • Maintain open communication with paralegal and other office staff.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Requirements:

  • Florida Bar license.
  • Board Certification in Criminal Trial.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in criminal defense, preferably at the State Attorney or The Public Defender’s Office.
  • Fluency in Spanish strongly preferred.
  • Graduated from a top 100 Law School.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Willingness to continuously learn and adapt to new challenges.

 

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Board Certification in Criminal Trial.
