Tax Manager - Real Estate Tax (Central Region Office Locations) Position Summary: • Tax Manager position available in 28 locations across the central region. • Recruiting for this role ends on June 1, 2024. • Opportunity to develop and pursue creative strategies while using the latest tax technologies in the real estate industry. • Seeking a strategic and creative federal tax professional with experience in serving real estate owners and operators. • Must have a solid understanding of Subchapter K, partnership allocation methodologies, and Real Estate Investment Trust qualification rules. • Position requires a hybrid work model with 2-3 days per week in-person collaboration. • Must have 5+ years of corporate or international tax experience and a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field. • Must possess one of the following accreditations: CPA, licensed attorney, enrolled agent, CFA, or CFP. • Ability to travel up to 25% based on the work and clients served. • Salary range: $84,980 to $169,650, with potential for annual incentive program participation. Responsibilities: • Provide federal tax consulting and compliance services to clients in the Real Estate industry sector. • Assist clients with life events for partnerships, inside and outside basis computations, and Schedule K-1 processing. • Use proprietary technologies to streamline tax compliance processes and achieve worldwide compliance. • Maintain and develop strong client relationships in the real estate industry. • Advise clients on various tax issues, including REIT qualification, Tax Reform impact, business restructuring, and tax controversy. • Oversee complex federal tax compliance and consulting projects using state-of-the-art technology and data analytics. • Manage engagement workflow, team resources, and billing. • Mentor and develop junior staff. • Work with a strong support system from firm leadership. Qualifications: Required: • Ability to perform job responsibilities within a hybrid work model. • Must have 5+ years of corporate or international tax experience. • Must possess a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field. • Must have one of the following accreditations: CPA, licensed attorney, enrolled agent, CFA, or CFP. • Ability to travel up to 25% based on the work and clients served. Preferred: • Advanced degree such as Masters of Tax, JD, and/or LLM. • Previous Big 4 or large CPA firm experience. • Experience with US clients and a basic understanding of US tax. • Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills. • Demonstrated research skills. • Self-starter with the ability to handle multiple priorities. • Solid understanding of real estate tax technical and transaction skills. • Demonstrated management experience.
