Abbott is currently seeking a Senior Counsel – Environmental – ESG Legal to join our team. This position can be located at either our Abbott Park or Willis Tower location in the Legal Division. As a Senior Counsel, you will have the opportunity to provide direct oversight for complex elements of Abbott's global Sustainability program at the corporate level. You will partner with internal clients including Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) to identify climate and environmental risk areas and to communicate such risk areas to management along with action plans to address risk. You will also provide oversight and assistance with education and training and serve as a legal advisor to multiple internal EHS programs in the sustainability space.

The base salary for this position ranges from $143,300 to $286,700, with variations depending on location. Key Responsibilities:

- Provide leadership and guidance on complex legal and regulatory issues related to environmental, sustainability, and safety matters.
- Track and evaluate new and emerging global legislation, regulations, and guidance on environmental topics.
- Review regulatory and industry trends and recommend responsive actions and program modifications.
- Partner with EHS, Finance, and Global Sustainability on voluntary and mandatory climate related and environmental liability and chemical restriction reporting.
- Ensure compliance with corporate, divisional, and affiliate environmental-related ESG policies and procedures.
- Lead cross-functional teams on complex issues and projects.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive training program on complex ESG and divisional/affiliate policies and procedures.
- Lead external reporting of program results in line with local regulations.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for environmental legal issues.

Qualifications:
