Job Overview:

The Liability Attorney will be responsible for defending clients in various areas of liability law, including trucking, cranes, construction defects, products liability, medical malpractice, and premises liability. They will handle all aspects of litigation, from initial pleadings to trial preparation, focusing on providing high-quality defense representation.

Duties:

• Defend clients in litigation matters related to liability and damages.
• Take depositions of liability and damages experts, parties, and fact witnesses.
• Attend Court hearings, mediations, and trial preparation.
• Draft pleadings, motions, and discovery documents.
• Ensure compliance with guideline reporting and contemporaneous billing.

Requirements:

• 8-15 years of relevant litigation experience.
• Experience in defending liability and damages cases.
• Proficiency in drafting legal documents.
• Ability to attend court hearings, mediations, and trial preparations.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the Florida State Bar or eligibility for admission through reciprocity.

Certifications:

• Admission to the Florida State Bar.

Skills:

• Litigation experience in trucking, cranes, construction defects, product liability, medical malpractice, or premises liability.
• Ability to conduct effective depositions.
• Strong legal research and writing skills.
• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
