Job Overview: A law firm in Indianapolis, IN, is seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney with a strong knowledge of Indiana trial court rules and procedures. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience and be licensed to practice law in Indiana.

Duties:

  • Represent clients in court appearances throughout Central Indiana.
  • Handle general civil litigation tasks such as drafting pleadings, briefs, and responses to written discovery.
  • Conduct depositions and provide regular litigation status updates to clients.
  • Advise clients on all aspects of litigation procedure, including settlement negotiations.
  • Work with multiple clients and handle any other duties as necessary.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience as a licensed attorney in Indiana.
  • Experience in general civil litigation and court appearances.
  • Ability to independently handle court appearances, trials, depositions, and drafting of litigation pleadings.
  • Knowledge of Indiana trial court rules and procedures.
  • Mediation and arbitration experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of the Indiana Homeowners Association Act and/or the Indiana Condominium Act is preferred.
  • Knowledge and/or experience with Landlord Tenant law preferred.

Education & Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Must be licensed to practice law in Indiana.

Skills:

  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Comfortable working independently while being a team player.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to manage a heavy and varied workload.
  • Awareness of changes to Indiana Statutes/Case Law.
