Duties:

  • Lead significant cases on behalf of public entity clients and supervise the litigation work of other team members.
  • Litigate and lead all aspects of significant cases, from investigation through filing, briefing, oral argument, pre-trial discovery, trials, and resolution.
  • Collaborate with attorneys, staff, technical experts, and others to design effective litigation strategies.
  • Manage all aspects of case progression, including client relations, conferring with opposing counsel, and providing guidance to the team.
  • Foster growth and development within the team and its practice.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctorate degree and 7+ years of active litigation experience.
  • Exceptional legal writing, analytical, oral communication, and advocacy skills.
  • Extensive experience running complex affirmative litigation, including case investigation, pre-trial discovery, motion practice, trial, and settlement negotiation.
  • Willingness to travel when necessary.
  • 10+ years of active litigation experience is preferred.
  • Experience with environmental tort litigation is desired.
