This position plays a crucial role in helping refugees and immigrants achieve immigration security and American citizenship. Responsibilities: - Consult with staff on applicable laws and regulations surrounding immigration applications - Prepare and review asylum and immigration documents for submission to USCIS - Conduct interview preparation with participants - Attend asylum and other immigration interviews when necessary - Provide training on current immigration laws and best practices to ReWA staff - Counsel participants on legal issues related to their immigration cases - Assist with quality assurance for immigration program staff - Maintain communication with program staff and collaborate with other managers/directors - Fill in for staff when needed - Support immigration department staff in achieving program goals - Oversee program data and provide monthly and quarterly reports - Provide input for grant applications and assist in developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and case manager manual - Enhance and maintain partnerships with immigration stakeholders and community-based organizations Qualifications: - Law degree and license to practice law in the United States - 1+ years of experience working on asylum cases and in immigration law - Experience working with refugees and immigrants - Excellent English language skills, both spoken and written - Demonstrated ability to use sound judgment - Computer skills including database, spreadsheet, word processing, and email - Commitment to refugee and immigrant advocacy - Ability to communicate effectively with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds - Respect for others' experiences, opinions, language, values, culture, and knowledge - Commitment to teamwork and collaboration - Willingness to work flexible hours - WA state driver's license and vehicle insurance - Bilingual in Dari/Farsi preferred Benefits: - Medical, Dental, Vision, LTD, Life insurance - Vacation, sick leave, paid holidays - 403(b) plan Equal Opportunity Employer: ReWA is committed to the principle of equal employment opportunity for all qualified individuals.
