**H2: Responsibilities**

The Associate Attorney will be responsible for:

- Resolving cases efficiently by communicating effectively with and working alongside senior attorneys and paralegals
- Maintaining client files in an organized fashion to ensure up-to-date information is handy for other attorneys, paralegals, and support staff
- Performing legal research, preparing for and attending hearings or other legal proceedings, and giving general counsel under the supervision of senior associate attorneys
- Drafting documents such as correspondence, pleadings, motions, briefs, affidavits, settlement agreements, and contracts to be used in proceedings and contract negotiations
- Analyzing conflicts in legal matters, advising clients on solutions, and negotiating on behalf of clients
- Keeping files organized to make sure the most recent updates are accessible to other attorneys, paralegals, and staff
- Communicating with senior associates, paralegals, and clients to ensure cases are handled efficiently

**H2: Qualifications**

The ideal candidate must have:

- Successfully completed an accredited law school with Juris Doctorate (.) degree and be licensed to practice law in Colorado
- Prior experience working in a law firm, 2-5 years minimum
- Experience in Civil Litigation, preferably Construction Defect or General Casualty/Insurance Defense
- Well-versed in legal research software (Westlaw)
- Ability to work independently while handling multiple files
- Strong communication, problem-solving, decision-making, interpersonal, and public speaking skills
- The ability to use Microsoft Office is required
- Active membership of the American Bar Association (ABA)
- Successfully passed the state bar exam

**H2: Compensation**

The Associate Attorney role at Higgins Hopkins McLain & Roswell, LLC offers an annual salary of $85,000 - $110,000+ DOE.
