A law firm in New York, NY, is seeking a Commercial Real Estate Lending Attorney to join its team. The candidate will assist in sophisticated commercial real estate and private equity financings, focusing on commercial lender representation. The role involves managing all phases of commercial real estate lending transactions independently, drafting loan documents, overseeing due diligence, and handling related debt finance matters.

 

Duties:

  • Assist in sophisticated commercial real estate and private equity financings, focusing on commercial lender representation.
  • Manage all phases of commercial real estate lending transactions independently, from inception to closing.
  • Draft and review commercial real estate loan documents, including mezzanine, construction, balance sheet, and bridge loans.
  • Review commitment letters, term sheets, fee letters, credit agreements, and ancillary loan documents.
  • Review title reports, real estate surveys, and oversee title clearance processes.
  • Handle due diligence, including reviewing entity organizational documents and other required documentation.
  • Manage lending and debt finance related to property acquisitions, leveraged buyouts, recapitalizations, refinancing, and other transactions.
  • Create real estate joint ventures and oversee complex acquisition, disposition, and leasing transactions.
  • Oversee real estate secured finance transactions, workouts, and restructurings.
  • Utilize exceptional time management skills to oversee a high volume of transactions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 for document management and communication.
  • Demonstrate exceptional organizational and prioritizing skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, providing updates and addressing inquiries promptly.

 

Requirements:

  • 6-10 years of experience in commercial real estate and commercial lender representation.
  • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the New York State Bar.
  • Experience in drafting and reviewing commercial real estate loan documents.
  • Knowledge of mezzanine, construction, balance sheet, and bridge loans.
  • Strong understanding of real estate joint ventures and complex acquisition transactions.
  • Excellent time management skills to handle a high volume of transactions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365.
  • Exceptional organizational and prioritizing skills.
  • Effective communication and written skills for client interaction.
