A law firm in Austin is seeking an experienced Energy Regulatory Associate Attorney with 4-5 years of energy transactional and/or regulatory litigation and compliance experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong academic record, proficiency in handling regulatory and compliance matters, and the ability to work on projects involving state energy regulatory commissions and power transactions.

 

Job Details:

  • Handle regulatory and compliance matters before the Texas Public Utility Commission and other state energy regulatory commissions.
  • Manage matters before or involving the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) or other ISO/RTOs or organized power markets.
  • Advocate before state utility commissions, with experience in power transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, power sales, and related matters.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in energy regulatory and compliance matters.
  • Work on projects involving state energy regulatory commissions and power transactions.
  • Advocate before state utility commissions.
  • Handle matters before or involving ERCOT or other ISO/RTOs.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

 

Experience:

4-5 years of energy transactional and/or regulatory litigation and compliance experience.

 

Skills:

  • Strong academic record.
  • Proficient in regulatory and compliance matters.
  • Superior interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Superior judgment and ability to handle multiple projects.
  • Articulate legal strategies and courses of action.

 

Certifications:

Active Bar license in the state.
