Responsibilities:

- Provide state tax consulting and compliance services to diverse clients in various industries
- Review partnership and corporate state tax returns and work papers, focusing on multistate tax issues
- Coordinate with in-house tax preparation team and clients' tax department
- Research state tax legislation and assist with impact on compliance
- Assist with various tax consulting projects and engagement workflow management
- Supervise tax consultants and interns on assigned engagements
- Perform job responsibilities within a hybrid work model
- Travel as needed (10% on average)
- Obtain or be eligible to obtain necessary licenses/certifications
- Participate in annual incentive program, subject to eligibility and performance
- Accommodate applicants with disabilities as needed

Qualifications:

Required:

- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in state income and franchise tax
- One of the following accreditations: CPA, licensed attorney, or Enrolled Agent
- Ability to perform job responsibilities within a hybrid work model
- Ability to travel as needed (10% on average)

Preferred:

- Advanced degree such as Masters of Tax or JD and/or LLM
- Previous experience at a Big 4 or large CPA firm
- Supervisory experience
- Excellent research and writing skills
- Excellent presentation and communication skills
- Experience with state tax planning, research, and analysis
- Preparation and review experience of state income and franchise tax returns
