Job Overview: A law firm seeks a highly skilled and experienced Healthcare/Life Sciences Trial Attorney to serve as Lead Trial Counsel. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading trials and arbitrations, developing trial strategies, conducting depositions, and defending key witnesses. The position requires a strong background in healthcare or life sciences, with at least 7 years of experience as lead trial counsel.

Duties:

  • Serve as first chair at trials and arbitrations
  • Prepare and present opening and closing statements
  • Conduct direct and cross-examination of witnesses
  • Prepare and argue motions in limine and motions for directed verdict
  • Develop strategies for trials and final hearings in arbitration
  • Conduct depositions of key witnesses
  • Defend depositions of key witnesses
  • Conduct oral argument on substantive/dispositive motions
  • Prepare pre-hearing and post-hearing briefs

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of experience as lead trial counsel
  • Experience in healthcare or life sciences (preferred)
  • Conducted at least 15 trials as lead counsel
  • Certified Civil Trial Attorney (a plus)
  • Admitted to practice in NY, NJ, and/or PA (willingness to become admitted to NY, NJ, or PA if not already admitted)
  • Strong oral communication skills
  • Exceptional writing skills
  • Team-player mindset
  • Strong work ethic

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Certified Civil Trial Attorney (a plus)
