This role offers the opportunity to work on diverse healthcare matters, including regulatory compliance, fraud and abuse, licensing, reimbursement, and transactional issues. The successful candidate will be pivotal in healthcare M&A deals, corporate compliance program development, and HIPAA compliance implementation.

Duties:

  • Provide comprehensive legal counsel to healthcare providers on various issues, including regulatory compliance, fraud and abuse, licensing, reimbursement, and transactional matters.
  • Draft and negotiate healthcare-related agreements such as professional service contracts, joint venture agreements, business associate agreements, and other pertinent documents.
  • Collaborate effectively with healthcare M&A deal teams, offering support in due diligence processes, regulatory assessments, and drafting transactional documents.
  • Develop and execute corporate compliance programs tailored to the specific needs of healthcare providers, ensuring adherence to legal requirements and industry standards.
  • Implement HIPAA compliance programs, offering guidance and support to healthcare organizations to maintain compliance with privacy and security regulations.

Requirements:

  • 8 years of relevant experience in healthcare law, focusing on regulatory compliance, transactional matters, and corporate governance.
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Ohio State Bar or eligibility for admission through reciprocity.
  • Proven track record of providing strategic legal counsel to healthcare clients.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare regulations, including but not limited to HIPAA, Stark Law, Anti-Kickback Statute, and Medicare/Medicaid reimbursement.
  • Exceptional drafting and negotiation skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and independently as needed.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in good standing with the Ohio State Bar Association or eligible for admission via reciprocity.
  • Any relevant certifications in healthcare law or compliance (., Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC), Certified in Healthcare Privacy Compliance (CHPC)) are advantageous.
