A law firm is seeking a General Liability Associate Attorney with the following responsibilities, requirements, and qualifications:

Job Overview:

The General Liability Associate Attorney will primarily be responsible for file review, legal analysis, and representation of clients in court proceedings and arbitrations. The role requires extensive legal research, drafting of legal documents, and collaboration with expert witnesses. The candidate must possess strong analytical skills, be detail-oriented, and demonstrate exceptional client communication abilities.

Duties:

  • Conduct file reviews and legal analysis of claims and causes of action
  • Perform extensive legal research and draft substantial briefs, memos, pleadings, and appellate briefs
  • Maintain an annual billable amount of 1950 hours
  • Represent clients in court, arbitrations, and depositions regularly
  • Draft and respond to discovery requests
  • Coordinate expert witness retention and collaboration
  • Prepare for trials and attend as required
  • It may require occasional travel

Requirements:

  • 5-8 years of experience in General Liability; Insurance Coverage experience is a plus
  • . degree from an ABA-approved law school
  • Admitted to practice in the states of NY and CT; admission in other states is advantageous
  • Superior analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in legal research and possess excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to self-manage and work effectively in a team environment
  • Prompt responsiveness to e-mail and phone inquiries
  • Excellent client skills and telephone manner

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an ABA-approved law school
  • Admission to practice in the states of New York and Connecticut
